Since March 28th, Pudong has been in lockdown followed by Puxi on April 1st. Some neighborhood compounds were locked down even earlier because of positive cases. This lockdown has impacted the lives of all residents regardless of nationality and age. Everyone has been forced to work from home and schools have been suspended and switched to online classes. Till today, the battle against omicron is still at a crucial stage and all residents are to adhere to the policies and guidelines implemented by the authorities.


The lockdown has forced almost all industries to adjust and shift its modus operandi, and even the Malaysian consulate and its agencies have not been spared. MayCham China in Shanghai will hold an Online Information and Sharing Session to update members and friends of the latest guidelines from the consulate, and also inviting individuals from various industries to share their experience and impact during this lockdown.


We are delighted to invite the speakers who will be sharing on the renewal and application process of Malaysian passport/visa during this lockdown and also the notarization of documents and other matters usually done at the consulate. The impact of foreign investments from China to Malaysia during this lockdown will also be discussed.


In addition, we will invite the respective individuals to share their experience and also the impact the lockdown has taken on their industry. Matrade Trade Consul Tuan Syed Fairus Shaik Ismail will also share his views and observation from the current lockdown. This session will be moderated by our Secretary General, Mr. Syn Tan. The individuals will be:
